I am so honored to be part of this amazing summer table blog hop. So, if you are coming over from my sweet friend Carla of Oak Hill Farms
Welcome! We are so glad you are here at Selah Pines Farmhouse.
When I think of Summertime, I imagine cold glasses of lemonade, lazy afternoons spent on the porch, butterflies, flowers, fresh air and staying out until the lighting bugs come out to play.
We recently enclosed our Patio area that was abandoned when we bought our Fixer Upper Farmhouse. This area sat for over two years as a catch all for us…never being used in any proper way, but this summer, we decided to create a screened in porch for about half of it and we enclosed the other half for my husband’s workshop. I will write a whole blog post about that soon with the final reveal, so stay tuned 😉
In the meantime, I wanted to create a romantic table for two with a summer theme and I kept thinking about sipping lemonade by candlelight.
Sounds kinda funny when I type that out, but the colors in pink lemonade, pink grapefruit along with my Pioneer Woman Reproduction Jadeite plates really inspired this Summertime table for two.
I started to cozy up the space by displaying my beautiful “Just Peachy” wreath by my sweet friend Tiffany. Isn’t it just the most lovely wreath? So well-made and so fun for Summer.
For ambiance, I set out some vintage brass candlesticks and my galvanized tin and wood tray from my friends at Joyfully Said Home, a local home decor and sign shop. I wanted this casual, cozy spot to feel relaxing and romantic. It sure is wonderful to be able to pull most of this from our home and create a whole new space to relax and enjoy each other’s company in the nice summer time weather.
For the actual place setting, the chargers are from Target, the dinner plates are Pioneer Woman Walmart, the smaller dessert plates are vintage milk glass, the braided trivets are also Pioneer Woman Walmart and they are topped off with Hobby Lobby reproduction Jadeite. The rose gold flatware is also from Walmart.
We added several strands of Cafe lights to warm up the space. We found a great deal through Walmart online and my husband hung the lights all through the rafters. It’s so beautiful as the sun sets to have the warm glow from the overhead lights.
I would really love to add a beautiful outdoor rug to ground this space, but at this time, it wasn’t in our budget…so, that’s something that will be coming soon. I’m thinking of a vintage inspired rug or possibly a jute style, but have to find something inexpensive and “my style”.
I wanted to create a cozy, romantic vibe so I used a linen bed scarf and tea towels from one of my favorite sources for high quality inexpensive linen household items and clothing, Magic Linen.
We brought in some thrift store chairs that I chalk painted Graphite last year along with our vintage teacher desk also painted in Linen White. I used Rustoleum chalk paint for both projects.
I hope this casual Summertime table inspires you to use things from your own home so you can also enjoy your own Summertime Table for two. (or three, four or five, etc.)
